¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ signs agreement with the China Scholarship Council

The ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ is delighted to announce a new education partnership with the China Scholarship Council (CSC). The agreement will provide opportunities for talented Chinese PhD students to study at the ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ under the joint CSC-¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Scholarship.

CSC is a non-profit institution affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. It manages the China Scholarship Fund, which provides financial support to 25-30,000 Chinese students each year to study abroad at world-ranked institutions.

¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ joins an exclusive group of UK universities to offer guaranteed CSC places through their prestigious partner scholarship scheme. The fully-funded scholarship scheme will cover tuition fees and stipend for up to four years, as well as a return airfare. Ten scholarships will be available each year, and ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ will welcome the first cohort in October 2022.

Professor Amelia Hadfield, Dean International at the ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ said:

“This agreement is a significant milestone for ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½â€™s international strategy as we look to deepen our research collaborations with partners in China. I would like to thank CSC for their important work in facilitating UK-China collaborative research links and for the support it provides Chinese students to study abroad. I have every confidence that, with the signing of this agreement, our relationship will go from strength to strength.â€

Dr Kate Gleeson, Director of Doctoral College at the ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ said:

“Through this new agreement we look forward to supporting many more CSC scholars to join our vibrant international PhD community. We welcome their invaluable contribution to ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½â€™s research activities and to enriching the research community during their time at ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½.â€
