Vertical farming trees – using novel aeroponic technology for bioenergy plant breedingIn the UK, novel biotechnology techniques (such as aeroponic cultivation) must be established to increase biomass production. This PhD project will evaluate how aeroponic technology can be used to rapidly produce willow cuttings for bioenergy. It will look to see whether alterations in the growth environment are able to induce preferential traits that are commercially beneficial. This project is in collaboration with Rothamsted Research.
